Overview
Based on a legendary instrument, the first guitar John Suhr designed and built for himself in 1984, we are excited to present this Suhr Standard Legacy Limited Edition in immaculate condition.
It features a stunning two-piece curly maple top finished in a rich, lustrous Suhr Burst (our favourite of the five Legacy finishes!) and framed with a scraped binding. The curly maple on display on this particular guitar is spectacular, with tight, consistent figuring throughout. The back and sides of the body are made from African okoume and are flawlessly matched to the Suhr Burst's edge colour.
The maple neck is superbly comfortable in the hand thanks to its Even C profile, and its satin finish makes transitions super slick. Adding to the comfort is an Indian rosewood fretboard with Suhr's "Standard Roll" edges. The fretboard also features a 10-14" compound radius, making chording easier towards the nut whilst eliminating any choking out of bends higher up the neck. This compound radius, combined with 22 stainless steel "Heavy" frets, makes bending feel like you're playing on ice!
Finishing off the classy aesthetics, the Standard Legacy sports a black headstock face with bevelled edges, a gold Suhr outline logo decal, clay dots and gold hardware throughout.
Loaded with two EMG SA single coils and an EMG 85 humbucker in the bridge, this versatile pickup selection is very dynamic and delivers outstanding clarity.
The bridge option on this guitar is an Original Floyd Rose (as opposed to the 2-Post Tremolo option), it is neatly mounted by being recessed into the body. Further tuning stability comes from a set of Suhr Locking tuners, which are also great for fast restringing. As you'd expect from Suhr, the build quality, fit and finish are second to none.
This Standard Legacy comes from a customer well known to us at Smokestack. Purchased brand new in August of 2025, it is in truly immaculate condition throughout, showing only extremely limited signs of patina in the lacquer from minimal prior handling/careful play.
In short, we don't think you will find a cleaner pre-owned example and buying one new is becoming increasingly difficult for this sought-after model.

Returns: Returns are allowed within 14 days of purchase. Goods must be returned to us in the exact same condition that they were sent in and you must contact us beforehand to authorise a return - no exceptions.
