Overview
We are thrilled to have this very cool Ernie Ball Music Man 1992 EVH Signature available for sale, in the rare Translucent Pink finish with Quilt Maple Bookmatched Top.
As you are no doubt already aware, Trans Pink is one of the rarest (hand-stained) finishes for this EVH signature model; as such, they are highly sought-after. This particular example is dated July 9th, 1992 - crafted just over a year after Eddie's beloved Trans Pink prototype "PINKY" was made (#80008).
In total, it is thought that only around 200 of Eddie's signature models were produced in this vibrant finish, of which around 100 came with the desirable Quilt Maple Bookmatched Top, as present here (and on PINKY).
This guitar is in all-original condition throughout, and for a 1992 instrument, it is best described as being in "very good condition". It does have playwear, pick marks and the odd scuffs/dings here and there. Despite evidence of some wear, we wouldn't say there are any marks that are too egregious. Please do get in touch if you would like to see further pictures or have any questions!
As you'd expect, this guitar is an absolute joy to play. We love how the asymmetrical C-shape neck (digitally replicated from Eddie's Kramer 5150) feels in the hand; it works so well with EBMM's iconic Gun Stock Oil & Wax blend finish. Transitioning around the neck on this beauty is super slick!
The neck itself has been carved from a lovely piece of figured birdseye maple. There is a bit of light wear to the finish on the fingerboard, just as was noted on the actual PINKY (because Eddie played it so much) - but again, this is nothing egregious. The neck itself is in excellent condition and the original frets have lots of life left in them.
It has a beautifully figured quilt maple top, everything is original and un-modified, what's more to say?!...Don't say "I'll Wait", this stunner is screaming "I'm the One"!!!
At the weigh-in, this guitar is 3.78kg (8.33lbs).
The case candy includes the EVH D-Tuna Manual, Case Keys, and Music Man Limited Warranty note. The original hardshell case is in nice condition with some expected wear from storage. Please note that the leather pull tab for the internal compartment has come off its rivet.
This guitar has come from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered "197" in marker pen on the front spine, between the two left-most latches.
