Overview
We are thrilled to have this very cool Ernie Ball Music Man 1995 EVH Signature available for sale in a Purple Translucent finish with Quilt Maple Bookmatched Top.
The Purple Translucent finish is notorious for heavily fading with UV light exposure. We are pleased that the colour on this example is in lovely condition with only limited fading over the years. Despite this, please do expect it to fade in future, especially if you have the guitar out on display/in use. This EVH has been cased for a sizeable portion of its life so it has escaped most of this fate so far!
This guitar is in all-original condition apart from the strap buttons which have been replaced. For a 1995 instrument, it is best described as being in "very good condition". It does have playwear, pick marks, scratches and the odd scuffs/dings here and there. Despite evidence of wear, we wouldn't say there are any marks that are too egregious. It's also worth noting, when restringing we found that the string blocks on the tremolo were a little stiff, some lubricant should help. As you'd expect, this guitar is an absolute joy to play. We love how the asymmetrical C-shape neck (digitally replicated from Eddie's Kramer 5150) feels in the hand; it works so well with EBMM's iconic Gun Stock Oil & Wax blend finish. Transitioning around the neck on this beauty is super slick!
The neck itself has been carved from a lovely piece of figured birdseye maple. There is a bit of wear to the finish on the fingerboard - but again, this is nothing egregious. The neck itself is in excellent condition. The original frets have some wear but there's still plenty of life left in them.
It still has the original toggle switch and potentiometer (Part code: 6381, serial: R137934). Apart from the lack of EVH D-Tuna & plastic tremolo cavity backplate, everything is original and un-modified.
At the weigh-in, this guitar is nice and lightweight at 3.20kg (7.06lbs).
The original hardshell case is in overall good condition with some expected wear and marks from storage. There is no case candy or case key with the guitar (just an empty pack of 5150 strings).
This guitar has come from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered "198" in marker pen on the front spine, between the two left-most latches.
What's more to say?!...Don't say "I'll Wait", this stunner is screaming "I'm the One"!!!
