Overview

It's sparkly, it's purply, and it's a little bit dirty! Another killer Masterbuilt has just landed with us here at Smokestack. It's time to get funky in the front row with this spectacular Fender 2012 Custom Shop Masterbuilt Greg Fessler '69 HSS Stratocaster Heavy Relic in Purple Sparkle Over 3-Tone Sunburst. 

Loaded with a Floyd Rose, two '69 Strat Single-coils, Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker and a 12-16" Compound Radius...this Strat is a high-performance, high-output powerhouse, which is very fitting of its picquant purply persona!

Greg has crafted a belter of a Masterbuilt here. If you're after raw expression, then this '69 Strat delivers it by the metric tonne. The body on this guitar is particularly nice with its specific heavier alder billet selection; this Strat's sustain is off the charts, the higher-density alder is definitely working its magic!

The finish is also very cool, with the 3-Tone Sunburst under the Purple Sparkle just barely visible, hinting at its vintage vibe. The colour-matched CBS-style headstock, Schaller "F" Tuners and sanded neck back complete the major aesthetic mojo here. 

This guitar has come from one of the UK's finest collections and was bought new by its single owner, direct from Wildwest Guitars in the US. The guitar has been stored away in a collection and has had limited use since new. This is also evidenced by the 6100 Jumbo frets, which are all in immaculate condition; elsewhere, just expect some light patina, but nothing that is incongruous with the overall finish. This guitar has come from Greg Fessler with all the buckle rash, paint chips, dirt on the pickups and fretboard face, etc., purposely put on by him.

We assume this was spec'd from the outset of the initial order and subsequently changed before the build began (note the "Call B4 Build" text under the General section).

The original hardshell case is included. This is generally in good condition but has some small marks from storage.
