Overview
It's time to get your Xanadu on! It is with great excitement that we are able to present for sale this excellent (EX+) condition Gibson 2015 Custom Shop Played, Aged & Signed Alex Lifeson EDS-1275 Doubleneck in Classic White.
This outstanding instrument is #21 from the rarest Aged & Signed EDS-1275 run ever. Slash, Page and Felder releases do not come close in terms of scarcity; this being one of only 25.
With each of the first 25 (a further 75 were aged only) personally inspected, signed and played by Lifeson, the Gibson Custom Shop went into exceptional detail to faithfully recreate the iconic Doubleneck that Alex originally acquired in 1976. The body and neck profiles are recreated to the most exacting standards after Gibson used 3D scans taken from the original. One feature we really love is the distinct Norlin-era volutes on the back of the headstock, just what any sensible doctor would order on a doubleneck for added strength, we thinks!
The aging on display here from the Custom Shop is nothing short of masterful, with every knock, knick and chip faithfully represented. Even evidence of the 12-string's headstock corner being chipped off (and glued back on by Alex) at Nassau Coliseum from a falling PA horn has been captured in fine detail. The 12-string's neck pickup also includes a mini-toggle to activate a coil-split, which Alex modded himself on the original.
In short, this is the closest experience you will ever get to owning Lifeson's own EDS-1275, which now resides in the Canadian Museum of History. Do not miss this exceptionally rare chance to secure this highly sought-after Custom Shop release; act now before it disappears off the market into Vapor Trails!
This Alex Lifeson EDS-1275 has come from one of the UK's finest collections. The guitar is presented in excellent+ condition; we'd describe it as mint, but there is just the faintest hint of prior, extremely light patina/playwear. All marks, chips, dings, etc. are from the Custom Shop and the guitar is in collector-grade condition. The frets are all in excellent condition throughout with minimal signs of play.
Please see above for full specifications, or get in touch for more information!
The weight of this guitar is 5.37kg (11.84lbs).
Case candy includes the Gibson Custom Certificate of Authenticity, Pre-Pack Checklist and Gibson Custom Hang Tags.
The original Custom Shop hardshell case is included. Please note, this has some external wear from storage. As this guitar has come from one of the UK's finest collections, the case has been numbered "58" in marker pen on the front spine between the two left-most latches.
