Overview
It's time to don your top hat as we present for sale this excellent (EX+) condition Gibson 2019 Custom Shop Aged & Signed Slash 1966 EDS-1275 Doubleneck in Aged Ebony.
This amazing instrument is #54 from the sought-after limited run of 125 signed recreations of Slash's iconic Doubleneck, one of his most aesthetically and sonically striking guitars. Only 11 from the run reached UK dealers; as such, it is exceptionally rare for one to appear on the pre-owned UK market, so don't miss this chance to secure one of these highly coveted guitars!
The Gibson Custom Shop went into exceptional detail to faithfully recreate the iconic Doubleneck that Slash's guitar tech acquired for him at a music store in Indiana back in 1990. [As a quick aside, which may be unknown to some, Gibson's special orders ledger states the original guitar began life in a sunburst finish, fancy that!]
The aging on display here from the Custom Shop is nothing short of masterful, with every knock, knick and chip faithfully represented across its one-piece mahogany body and one-piece mahogany necks. There are loads of fine details to geek out about, such as the subtle aesthetic differences between the 12-string's chrome and 6-string's nickel tailpieces, or the prominent buckle rash on the back.
In short, this is the closest experience you will ever get to owning and playing Slash's own '66 EDS-1275. Slash has gone on record saying his prototype of these reissues sounds better than his original, stating "...it hands down sounds better than the original from the '60s. It is one of the most purest-sounding, tonally brilliant guitars that I actually own. And so, it's great to have it on the road, because it just sings; it's like a gift" - we'd call that a glowing endorsement!
This Slash EDS-1275 has come from one of the UK's finest collections. The guitar is presented in excellent condition; cosmetically, expect only some light additional playwear and none that is incongruous with its level of factory aging from the Custom Shop. The frets are in immaculate condition throughout, showing virtually no signs of play.
Please see above for full specifications, or get in touch for more information!
The weight of this guitar is 5.36kg (11.82lbs).
The original hardshell case is included; it does have some external cosmetic wear from storage. Please see the photos for all the included case candy.
This Slash EDS-1275 has come from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered "189" in marker pen on the front spine between the two leftmost latches.
