Overview
Your time is gonna come...wait, no, scratch that, it is well and truly here!!
Quite possibly the most sought-after Gibson acoustic reissue ever; here at Smokestack Guitars, we are beyond excited to present for sale this mint condition Gibson 2024 Custom Shop Aged, Played & Signed Jimmy Page 1964 SJ-200 #24/50 in Cherry Tea.
Crafted with significant input from Jimmy, and rendered from his highly detailed recollection of the original guitar (that was stolen, never to be recovered); from its tonality, playability, wear, down to its vivid Cherry Tea finish, everything has been recreated to Jimmy's uncompromising and exacting standards.
In short, this is the closest recreation there will ever be to the legendary SJ-200 used by one of the world's most iconic guitarists, on Led Zeppelin I, one of rock's most seminal albums. Heard on Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Black Mountain Side and Your Time Is Gonna Come, as well as on Jimmy's mesmerising performance of "White Summer/Black Mountain Side" on the Julie Felix Show on April 26, 1970.
This is an exceptionally rare chance to own one of only 50 exquisite instruments handcrafted by Gibson Custom Shop in Montana, masterfully aged by Gibson's Murphy Lab, played by Jimmy Page, and then signed by him on the back of the headstock. This truly epic instrument will no doubt become the pinnacle of the lucky new owner's collection!
At the time of writing, this is one of only two available for sale within the UK and it is priced extremely competitively. It will not hang around for long, so act now to avoid disappointment!
This SJ-200 has come from one of the UK's finest collections. The guitar is presented in mint condition; after a thorough inspection, there appear to be no signs of any playwear (aside from the factory Murphy Lab ageing). A true collector-condition piece. Please see above for full specifications, or get in touch for more information!
The weight of this guitar is 2.26kg (4.98lbs). Please see the photos for all the included case candy (featuring the plectrum Jimmy used to play the actual guitar, best piece of case candy ever?!!).
The original Custom Shop hardshell case with Zoso sigil is included and is in excellent condition.
