Here is a rare chance to purchase a mint condition James Tyler USA 2023 Studio Elite 1982 in the UK.
Completed on 28/10/2023, this guitar is one of the very first of this special "throwback" 1982 model created by James Tyler in collaboration with Wild West Guitars. Finished in a lustrous and gleaming White Pearl Gloss, this is one sleek Schmoo-machine!
As always with Tyler, build quality is second to none. From its solid Alder body, to its Indian Rosewood Fretboard and Quartersawn Maple Neck, the finest tonewoods have been selected here.
The Floyd Rose trem is a nice, functional hardware addition that harkens back to this Studio Elite's 1982-vibes (the original FRT-1 Floyd Rose was available the year prior, although we're glad this modern version here has the adjustable fine tuners!).
This Studio Elite 1983 is loaded with a JTS5500 single coil pickup in the neck. The JTS5500 utilises Alnico 5 magnets and produces a powerful, distinct, chimey sound.
On the bridge, we have a high-output Shark humbucker, also featuring Alnico 5 magnets. Tyler describe it best as "Good tight low end. Good bark in the mids but still even sounding. Sweet singing highs with a lower peak. Fat single notes with a nice taste of compression. Big articulate overdrive".
Switching options include a 3-way pickup selector, a series/parallel button for the Shark pickup, plus an Active Midboost Preamp with Bypass and variable control knob. Made in collaboration with Demeter, this sought-after midboost acts as a low-impedance buffer when engaged, even when the midboost knob is rolled all the way down.
The weight of this guitar is 3.29kg (7.25lbs). The plastic film is still present on the electronics cavity plate.
The original Tyler Signature hardshell case is included. It is in excellent condition, with just a few marks from storage. Please see the photos for all the included case candy.
This Tyler comes from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered "356" in marker pen on the front spine between the two left-most latches.
