Preamble
One of the very last, if not "the" last Tony Iommi Old Boy's that John Diggins ever worked on - this exceedingly rare piece of historic UK-luthiery was on order with Jaydee Custom for nearly 6 years!
Everything about this build is outstanding and it is not hyperbole to say that this is the ultimate guitar for any die-hard Iommi and Black Sabbath fan.
In short, this is one of the last, rare and new condition Tony Iommi Old Boy SGs to be crafted by John Diggins (and finished by his family), in a rare (and no longer advertised) relic finish, complete with a genuine 1970s John Birch Biflux neck pickup (like the original) and a genuine (now discontinued) Schaller 456 bridge.
As you'll almost certainly be aware if you're looking at this listing, Iommi's own Jaydee Custom Old Boy is the main "SG" he uses as his live guitar. You'll have seen his Old Boy being played at the Back To The Beginning gig in July (we were lucky enough to be there - what a show!).
This Old Boy is the nicest that we've ever seen available for sale and the chance to own a new condition one of this pedigree will almost certainly never present itself again!

Overview
It is a pleasure to be able to offer for sale this "as new" condition Jaydee Custom 2025 Tony Iommi Old Boy SG VOS Relic with a genuine John Birch Biflux neck pickup. This guitar represents what is almost certainly the final chance to own a new Jaydee Custom Old Boy that John Diggins worked on.
This is by no means your "standard" Old Boy in a distressed/VOS finish. The collector who ordered this guitar was the first person to request John if he could produce an Old Boy to a full relic finish. He specifically asked for this guitar to be crafted as closely as possible to Iommi's original Old Boy. The result is this most spectacular OB, it is by far the most breathtaking guitar we've ever had in at Smokestack!
Sadly, John passed away in 2024 whilst this build was still not yet finished but the Diggins family saw it through to completion; the certificate has been signed by Michael, Andrew and Toby Diggins. Please see the certificate and the email from Jaydee in the gallery.
As you are probably aware, Jaydee Custom no longer are able to produce this guitar with the now discontinued Schaller 456 bridge and they no longer advertise the relic finish option.
In addition to this, the collector who ordered the guitar managed to procure an original 1970s John Birch Biflux pickup for the build. Jaydee certified that this was indeed a genuine Biflux and incorporated it into the guitar to match the spec of Iommi's original.
This Old Boy is in "as new", unplayed condition with the plastic film still on the truss rod cover and full size backplate.
Case candy includes the Certificate of Authenticity, Case Keys, Old Boy pick and Truss Rod Tool. In addition the book - "The Shaping of Jaydee" is included for free (this is rare as hen's teeth in and of itself!).
This Old Boy weighs in at a very comfortable 3.49kg (7.69lbs).

Returns: Returns are allowed within 14 days of purchase. Goods must be returned to us in the exact same condition that they were sent in and you must contact us beforehand to authorise a return - no exceptions. The buyer is responsible for the item being safely returned and the return postage costs. The buyer must insure the item to its full value to avoid loss.
