Overview

If we look at this any longer, we're going to have to keep this for ourselves! This is the coolest Singlecut we've ever had available!

It's a pleasure to offer this true rarity: a stunning PRS 2008 Singlecut "Floyd" Quilted Maple 10-Top with East Indian Rosewood Neck in McCarty Sunburst.

PRS's PTC (Paul Reed Smith Tech Center) converted this guitar from a PRS Singlecut Trem into a "Singlecut Floyd" in 2013. The original owner managed to get Paul's approval for this mod to be allowed to happen. Originally, Paul wasn't "on board" with the idea, but he eventually came around and later admitted that "it rings beautifully!".

PTC's legendary Skitchy carried out all the mod work on this guitar. In addition to the Floyd Rose install, he also updated the tuners to Phase IIIs and gave the incredible rosewood neck the famous PTC "Rosewood Treatment of Extreme Awesomeness".

What is this treatment, you may ask? It's applied to the rosewood...and it's extremely awesome!! We don't know exactly what magic/voodoo PTC conjured, but we do know that they've created one exceptionally smooth neck in the process. It feels like velvet, doesn't get "clammy", and rapid transitions up and down the neck are a breeze!  

Out of the factory in 2008, this guitar had a pair of PRS #6 humbuckers (not included). Around the time of the PTC install, these were swapped out for a pair of Fishman Fluence Moderns. This pair of Fishmans, along with their wiring and pots, are included free with the guitar. In addition to these pickups, there is also a free Wolftone Fenris humbucker (in unused/as new condition). The guitar is currently loaded with Wolftone Marshallhead Neck & SH-EVH Bridge humbucker, which have been professionally installed. There is also a free spare chrome pickup cover. 

The condition is best described as excellent, with no glaringly obvious chips or dings. We've very carefully checked over the guitar and there are just a handful of tiny marks that we could find - we've highlighted these on the final photo, as you'll see, nothing serious!

It is from 2008, so please expect some signs of playwear and patina in the lacquer and hardware. The neck is immaculate, with no marks. The frets are also in nice condition with plenty of life left. The only thing to note regarding the neck is that the Phase III tuner buttons have some light scuffs; these are straightforward to replace if you thought it was necessary. 

When the guitar was having the mod work approved by Paul, he signed the top of the case and the back of the headstock with his name and "To Jürgen". There is also a spare signed backplate cover. Skitchy also left a note on the signed PTC card!

At the weigh-in, it is 3.756kg (8.28lbs).

The case candy includes the PTC Skitchy signed note, PRS hang tag, PRS sticker (a bit worn), Description & Operating Instructions card, spare backplate (signed by Paul), case key, allen keys and truss rod wrench, etc.

The original hardshell case is included, with the MODCAT sticker still present on the side. Please note that the case has external wear. As previously mentioned, it is signed on the top.

This guitar has come from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered in marker pen on the front spine, between the handle and the right-most latch. This is hard to see in the pictures because of the black tolex. It's also taped and numbered with the model between the two left-most latches.
