Overview

From one of the rarest Private Stock runs ever, we're really excited to bring you this exquisite Neil Schön Limited Run NS-15 Hollowbody.

This extremely special Hollowbody, envisioned by Schön, is without doubt one of our favourite Private Stock models we've ever been fortunate enough to get our hands on. For a completely unique Private Stock playing experience, we dare say that it's right up there with the Super Eagle (although they are different animals)! 

This highly collectable Hollowbody is number #29 of just 30 to ever leave Stevensville. Each of these 30 specialist instruments was made in a different finish, making this Private Stock NS-15 1 of only 1 in this rich and lustrous McCarty Burst finish. 

Spec'd by Neil to have a floating Floyd Rose in its carved-from-solid medium-thin archtop body, and loaded with a pair of Collection Treble & Bass Humbuckers (w/coil-tap)...this "grin-a-minute" masterpiece completely blew us away, and we know it will thoroughly impress its lucky new owner upon every playing session. 

Crafted from some of the most tightly figured fiddleback maple that you will ever see, the construction of this body is utterly jaw-dropping. The consistency of the figuring on the 5A solid maple top and back truly is a sight to behold, especially on such a wide 15" body. 

Paul Reed Smith himself states that it's made from "our cherry-picked, cherry-picked, cherry-picked wood!" and this isn't just evident on the body. Have a look at the neck, with its wide-curl figuring, we have a true face-melter in our presence! 

The fingerboard is made from a beautiful piece of ebony, framed in a curly maple binding to match the body. An ebony headstock veneer, truss rod cover and tremolo cavity backplate further unify this aesthetic. The marquetry on display here is also particularly noteworthy. Vibrant paua heart J-Birds with mother-of-pearl outlines are highly iridescent and look phenomenal. Crowning the headstock is a matching Private Stock Eagle inlay, along with a set of Phase III Locking Tuners with matching ebony buttons. 

As the photographs attest, this guitar has been exceptionally well cared for by its owner and has seen only a minimal amount of play. It is in practically mint condition throughout, with only the most minimal signs of patina and playwear commensurate with its light use over the years. The Santana Fretwire (fitting as Schön was in Santana before Journey) is in excellent condition, showing hardly any wear or usage.

The weight of this guitar is a gravity-defying 3.21kg (7.08lbs).

The case candy includes the Dunlop Strap Locks (Neil Schön spec), PTC card, case key, Mel Bay tag, Allen keys and the truss rod wrench. 

There is no certificate of authenticity with the guitar. On the rare occasions when these guitars come up for sale, it is common for the certificate to be lost. We speculate that, due to the case's awkward shape, owners would separate the paperwork (as it's difficult to store inside) and inevitably they'd get lost. 

The original Private Stock leather hardshell case is included, with the MODCAT sticker still present on the side. Please note that the case has some external marks from storage. 

This Private Stock NS-15 Limited Run has come from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered "60" in marker pen on the front spine, between the left-most latches (please see case pic).
