Overview
With some of the curliest Koa this side of Maui, we are really pleased to be able to offer this exceptional PRS Private Stock Alex Lifeson Thinline Signature.
After extensively testing a PRS Angelus Cutaway, Alex Lifeson collaborated with the peerless Private Stock master luthiers to create a simply outstanding acoustic based on the already much-lauded Angelus platform.
You won't be surprised that both Alex and the Private Stock craftsmen have outdone themselves in creating a truly majestic instrument here. The tonewood selection is second to none; from the Bearclaw Spruce Top with its Spalted Maple/Paua Rosette and Paua Purfling, to the highly figured Koa Back & Sides (bound in Curly Maple), Peruvian Mahogany neck and Ebony Fingerboard, this all culminates in a responsive and tonally rich acoustic that is just as mesmerising tonally as it is visually.
The outstanding luthiery may end with the finishing and fitting of these incredible materials, but it begins with the guitar's innovative design. The Thinline Signature has been purposefully designed to be slightly slimmer than the Angelus and has been constructed for endurance on the road and reduced feedback at louder volumes when playing live. In short, this Private Stock Thinline Signature was made to be a "Working Man"!
We are always in awe of the marquetry work that Private Stock immaculately crafts. This guitar is no exception. The Ebony fretboard and Headstock Veneer both serve as exquisite canvases for the Paua "Birds In Flight" and Private Stock Eagle inlays, picked out in Mother-of-Pearl outlines and then framed in Paua Purfling...it is quite the sight to behold!
This particular guitar has been fitted with the factory-option LR Baggs Lyric system (instead of the default Matrix Infinity). With a featherweight mic mounted to the underside of the bridge plate and advanced noise-cancelling technology that rejects "boxy" reflections, this is an excellent addition that creates a clear, open sound, as if the guitar were mic'd up from outside. Volume levels and microphone presence can be controlled via the discrete soundhole control.
Other appointments include a Bone Nut and Bone Saddle, as well as Gold Gotoh Tuners with Ivoroid Buttons. [Editor's note: These are the original Gold Gotoh Tuners that came with this guitar (and all other guitars of this model), however we think that PRS might have had some confusion on the COA and marketing materials online, as this model is listed as having "Gold Gotoh Locking Tuners" - as there is no clamping mechanism for the string, they are not locking and just like traditional tuners in our book... we can confirm these are the correct spec' tuner for this Alex Lifeson model and the guitar has 100% original components.]
As you can see from the photographs, this guitar is in excellent condition throughout. We are also pleased to report that there are no chips or dings anywhere. The guitar does have some light playwear in the lacquer, commensurate with some play over the years; however, this is a very clean example and its condition is best described as "excellent". The frets are also in top condition, showing little sign of any wear.

The case candy includes the Private Stock Certificate of Authenticity, Description and Operating Instructions, Registration Card, truss rod wrench and case keys.
The original Armitage hardshell case is included, with the MODCAT sticker still present. This case has a few external marks/scuffs from storage.
This guitar has come from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered and has "Alex Lifeson" in marker pen on the front spine, between the left-most latches (please see case pic).

Shipping: U.K. delivery is charged at £16.50 and is via the Parcelforce Express AM service. We usually ship the next working day (Mon. - Fri.) after cleared payment. UK delivery only. We can't deliver to P.O. Boxes. In the unlikely event that there is damage to the item you must notify us immediately on the day that you receive it.
Returns: Returns are allowed within 14 days of the date of delivery. Goods must be returned to us in the exact same condition that they were sent in and you must contact us beforehand to authorise a return - no exceptions. The buyer is responsible for the item being safely returned and the return postage costs. The buyer must insure the item to its full value to avoid loss.
