Every now and then, Private Stock (PRS's Custom Shop) crafts an instrument that serves as an unconditional pièce de résistance, showcasing in every excruciating detail just exactly what their elite luthiers are capable of when given absolute freedom.

We are now delighted to offer for sale one such unique instrument. This immaculate PRS 2018 Private Stock Custom 24 Doubleneck is this exquisite model taken to its peak. 

With an utterly jaw-dropping Quilted Maple Top and Curly Maple Back (with matching backplates), gold hardware throughout and some of the most mesmerising marquetry you will ever see from PRS...this double-headed dragon is the apex predator of Doubleneck Custom 24s!

Realised in a mind-blowing Laguna Dragon's Breath High Gloss Nitro finish, the incredible colours of this constantly transforming stain are present throughout - on the Quilted Maple Top, Curly Maple Back, Curly Maple Necks, the Quilted Maple Headstock Veneer and the Curly Maple Backplates. There is no spot on this guitar where the finish has not been dialled up to 11!

The figuring on the pair of heavily flamed maple necks both have a remarkable "holographic" quality to them, which has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. On the 6-string neck, it features PRS's very popular Pattern profile, and the 12-string neck is carved with its own, equally comfortable, "12 string" profile. 

A pair of jet black Ebony Fretboards serve as precious canvases to exhibit one of the most masterful displays of the Private Stock's inlay work that we have ever witnessed. Both fretboards are adorned with green to blue gradating birds to perfectly match the spectacular Laguna Dragon's Breath transitioning colours; these consist of Dark Lapis, Azurite Web, Clear Lapis, Chilean Lapis, Azurite Chrysocolla, Chrysocolla, Malachite Web, Green Lizard, Lime Green Turquoise and Gaspiete Yellow/Green. These Bird Inlays are all additionally "framed" with Mother-of-Pearl Outlines. 

To crown this phenomenal performance of marquetry, each headstock is inlaid with a Dark Lapis Private Stock Eagle, also outlined in Mother-of-Pearl. These eagles look perfectly at home perched on their stained figured maple headstocks!

PRS's finest Gold hardware has been spec'd throughout. The 6-string has the much-celebrated PRS Gen III Tremolo with Locking Saddles and Phase III Locking Tuners, both working in unison to provide outstanding tuning stability. The 12-string features Gold Phase II Locking Tuners and a fully adjustable Gold PRS Stoptail. Both sets of tuning pegs have Pearloid Buttons, which complete the overall luxurious aesthetic. 

A pair of Tremonti (6-string) and a pair of 12 String pickups are loaded into the belly of this beast. Both sets have matching gold covers installed. You'd be forgiven for thinking on first glance that the electronic switching would be complicated; however, it's very intuitive. Both sides of the guitar have a Master Volume and a Master Tone with a 3-way pickup selector switch; a neck-selector switch then controls which set of pickups are providing the output. 

As the photographs attest, this guitar has been exceptionally well cared for by its owner. It has had only extremely light, occasional use, and we are pleased to report that it is in immaculate condition throughout. Upon thorough inspection, we can confirm that there are absolutely no chips, dings or scratches anywhere on the guitar.

There is some extremely fine patina and playwear, commensurate with what you'd expect from a guitar from 2018 that's had very light play, but there are no specific marks to note anywhere on the guitar.

The frets are in mint condition with hardly any signs of use. You can tell from the gold plating on the bridge saddles that this guitar has practically been a case queen for most of its life!

The case candy includes the Private Stock Certificate of Authenticity, PRS sticker, Operating Instructions manual, case key, Allen keys and the truss rod wrench.

The original Private Stock White Snakeskin Tolex case is included, with the MODCAT sticker still present on the side. Please note that the case has some light external marks from storage. 

This Custom 24 Doubleneck has come from one of the UK's very finest collections; as such, the case has been numbered in marker pen on the front spine, near the two left-most latches (please see case pic). 

This Doubleneck has just been freshly restrung; it is ready to rock! Restringing any double-neck guitar is always a "fun" job, but having the PRS Phase II/III Locking Tuners makes it much quicker compared to a standard style tuning peg; they provide some much welcome time-saving!
