We bring you something extremely special from the rarefied heights of PRS Private Stock - this absolutely exquisite Modern Eagle V showcases the very pinnacle of craftsmanship, innovation and materials that Paul Reed Smith has to offer, culminating in a true heirloom quality instrument.

Finished in the mind-blowing Laguna Dragon's Breath colourway with matching backplates...this majestic Limited Edition Private Stock release is not one to be missed. It should be noted that this is a particularly lightweight MEV weighing in at a comfortable 3.57kg/7.87lbs.

The guitar was purchased originally from authorised PRS dealer GuitarGuitar with an RRP of £10,995 - so here is a rare chance to grab a recent and Limited Edition Private Stock model at a significant discount!

As the photographs bear witness, this guitar has been lovingly cared for. It is in entirely mint condition throughout having only had extremely light usage during the short time it has been owned. There are absolutely no chips, dings, impressions or scratches anywhere on the guitar, it is in thoroughly mint condition. The frets also show barely any signs of usage.

As you'd expect the specification on this guitar is outstanding with the timber selection being second to none. The striking maple top is densely figured, the stain and High Gloss Nitro finish really showcase the maple's depth and character. This top has been perfectly paired with a beautiful one-piece African mahogany back for an iconic tonewood combination.

The pattern profile neck is crafted from an intensely flamed roasted curly maple with some beautiful spalted streaks. This will be one of the nicest figured maple necks that you will ever set your eyeballs on, it is holographic to the extreme and it's certainly one of the most exceptional necks that we've had the pleasure of witnessing. It has been left unstained so the caramel hue nicely balances off the overall aesthetic of the guitar. The neck has an equally alluring roasted curly maple fingerboard with matching headstock veneer and truss rod cover.

In keeping with the "Laguna Dragon" theme, the mother-of-pearl bird inlays & Private Stock Eagle headstock inlay are outlined in a blue Luminlay as well as the side dots, they look fantastic in the dark and are a very functional addition for gigging.

Continuing the dragon theme further, PRS' finest Smoked Black hardware is featured. The guitar is spec'd with a PRS Gen III tremolo bridge with locking saddles (unique to the Private Stock programme) and Phase III set-screw locking tuning pegs for the ultimate in tuning stability. The tuning pegs feature ivoroid buttons which are a superb match with the bone nut.

Please note, where it states the Gen III Trem finish is Smoked Black - the Private Stock team have actually chosen a hybdrid approach here with the saddles and knife-edge screws being Smoked Black and the bridge being Chrome to better blend against the Laguna Dragon's Breath body. This is evidenced from the original photos of the guitar when it was available for sale at GuitarGuitar (original listing still available on their website).

A pair of Paul's TCI humbuckers feature as bass and treble pickups with a PRS NS-01 Singlecoil in the middle. Mini-toggle switches allow you to initiate an isolated split of each humbucker to produce a superior singlecoil sound. [An isolated split completely removes one of the coils from the circuit and leaves the 2nd coil fully active, this is as opposed to splitting one of the coils just by grounding like as with a standard coil split].

In addition to this, activating the Push/Pull Tone Knob will bring into play both humbuckers simultaneously allowing you to use all three pickups at once. Please see the PRS Control Diagram below for a full breakdown of all switching options available - suffice to say, this is a session musician's dream!

The guitar comes with a fantastic brown Private Stock Paisley case, this is in excellent condition. The guitar has come from a collection and as such the case has been numbered on the front edge (where the clasps are) in a green pen. This is quite hard to notice as it is camouflaged by the Paisley pattern.
