Overview

Hot diggity dog! We are excited to have available for sale this absolutely jaw-dropping Tom Anderson 2024 Drop Trop. Released during Anderson's 40th anniversary year, this 2024 model is one of the most spectacular instruments that we've had in at Smokestack Guitars to date! The exquisite craftsmanship of Tom Anderson Guitarworks is on full display here!

This Drop Top features a simply mesmerising Quilt Maple Top finished in a beautiful Blood Orange Burst (with scraped binding). This is matched to an equally entracing Swamp Ash Back in a wild & zesty Black with Orange Dog Hair finish - what a stunner!

The spec' on this Anderson provides a mind-warping hit of G.A.S.-inducing fervour. We particularly love the beautifully figured Ziricote fingerboard that sits upon the satin finish Caramel Maple Neck. There's so much character in it, it's the perfect compliment to the deeply quilted maple on the body.

Everything about this neck is smoooth, and smooth = fast! The neck features a Even-Taper +.030 neck shape which carries the same profile all the way from the nut to the 12th. This creates a highly consistent and stable neck feel that makes changing positions a doddle.

The fingerboard is loaded with 22x Jumbo Stainless Steel Frets and features a 12-14" conical radius, this combination makes bending a cinch with no worry of notes choking out. The back of the headstock bears a 40th Anniversary logo to commemorate this landmark in Tom Anderson's history.

Another standout feature we love is the A-wedgie 2-bolt neck joint. This exclusive Anderson design is a 3-dimensional trapezodial wedge which creates an extremely tight and accurate joint. It is the shape of the neck and pocket that locks together to create a tight bond thus ensuring the neck is seated exactly where it should be with no chance for movement. As this revolutionary and innovative design completely removes lateral movement, 4-bolts are no longer required.

If this wasn't enough for spicy spec', Tom Anderson have incorporated the patented Buzz Feiten Tuning System into this build. It's an essential addition for all us intonation-fiends whilst also helping to provide rock-solid tuning stability along with the Locking Tuners and Vintage Tremolo system.

As you'd expect, this Drop Top brings sustain to last you through a post-apocalyptic winter and enough juicy tones to keep you occupied throughout! A HF1 at the neck brings expressive, punchy tones with clarity. The HF2 on the bridge is a sweet, medium-hot output pickup with vintage roots. Anderson laud its "muscular mids with an easy overlay of lush and soft highlights".

The hum-cancelling SF1 loaded in the middle position provides a vintage-level output single coil sound that perfectly compliments the HF1 & 2. 5-way switching and a splitter allow for countless tonal options but it won't take you long to hone-in on something that catches your ear and imagination!

As the photographs bear witness, this guitar has been extremely well-cared-for. This Tom Anderson was purchased direct from an authorised U.K. dealer and has been kept in immaculate condition in the few short months since it left the showroom. The guitar and frets shows limited signs of any use.

All case candy is included. Present in this is the Tom Anderson Certificate, Tom Anderson leather strap, fret protector, case key, allen keys, setup sheet etc. The original hardshell case is included and it is in excellent condition, the owner has added a couple of Tom Anderson stickers to its front and back.

This Drop Top is a featherweight at just 3.20kg/7.05lbs!

Returns: Returns are allowed within 14 days of purchase. Goods must be returned to us in the exact same condition that they were sent in and you must contact us beforehand to authorise a return - no exceptions. The buyer is responsible for the item being safely returned and the return postage costs. The buyer must insure the item to its full value to avoid loss.
