Overview

It's always a special occasion when a fresh Castedosa arrives at Smokestack Guitars, and this one is even spicier than usual. We are thrilled to present this near mint condition Castedosa 2026 El Halcón Standard in Aged 3-Tone Sunburst Sparkle #499.

Carlos Lopez created this incredible El Halcón for the 2026 Wood Wire Volts exhibition in Anaheim. As such, it's fully spec'd to the hilt with hand-wound Curtis Novak pickups, herringbone purfling, a Mastery bridge and an outstanding metal flake finish. This falcon is delivering some big vibes!

Unfortunately, the guitar wasn't completed in time for the show; instead, it went to UK authorised dealer, Coda Music, earlier this year. With a new RRP of £9799, this is a chance to snap up a killer-looking, fully loaded El Halcón with some story and at a more approachable price!

Being just a few months old and sourced from one very careful owner, it is in near mint condition. The only visible wear is a light surface scratch on the back (treble-side edge) of the neck, near the 9th fret. It is only about 2.5mm in size and it's not something you really feel during playing. It is also not incongruous with the overall look of the guitar.

The frets are in mint condition, showing no wear. As always, Carlos' fretwork on display is exceptional; his is the best in the business! We particularly love the characterful rosewood selected for the fretboard. It has some unusual figuring, especially around the 5th fret; it looks like it shows the number 5 - very cool!

Please note, on the scratchplate's arrow engraving, there's a shallow sink mark. Given its location and the surface finish matching the rest of the scratchplate, we believe this occurred during the engraving process. As it's shallow, it's not visible in the photos and it doesn't visually catch your eye in person unless you look for it.

Please see above for full specifications, or contact us for more information.

The weight of this El Halcón is 3.82kg (8.42lbs).

The original hardshell case is included and is in excellent condition overall. The case candy includes the Certificate of Authenticity, Walker & Williams Leather Strap, two case keys (only one shown in the photo), Allen keys, Castedosa cloth, sticker and flag.
