Overview
Fresh in at Smokestack is this near mint condition Tom Anderson 2021 Bobcat in a lustrous Natural Black to T-Red finish. Crafted by one of the world's most iconic and universally praised boutique builders, Tom Anderson never fails to disappoint and this stunning Bobcat is no different.
This guitar has been sourced from a collector well-known to us at Smokestack (for more exquisite Tom Anderson stock like this, please see our current selection!). Whilst a 2021 model, it was purchased earlier this year as "new old stock" from the Swedish authorised Tom Anderson dealer Malmö Musikaffär. It was supplied without a spec sheet, however, the spec can be obtained from the TA website using their Serial Number Search page.
It is in lovely condition throughout, with no chips or dings anywhere. It does have some light patina in the lacquer and hardware from limited use by its one prior owner. The frets show no signs of any wear.
A stunning piece of Flame Maple has been selected for its Carved Top, framed in a natural binding; this beauty pops! This top has been paired with a Mahogany back which is finished in Black. The guitar gleams with Tom Anderson's "Beautiful High Gloss Finish".
Everything about this guitar's Mahogany neck is smoooth...and smooth = fast! It has a slick Satin Natural finish, 1 11/16-inch Nut Width, and the neck also features an Even-Taper +.030 shape, which maintains a similar depth from the nut to the 12th fret.
The fingerboard is loaded with 22x Heavy Stainless Steel Frets and features a 12-14" compound radius. This combination makes bending a cinch with no worry of notes choking out.
Another standout feature we love is the "A-Wedgie" 2-bolt neck joint. This exclusive Anderson design is a 3-dimensional trapezoidal wedge that creates an extremely tight, accurate joint. It is the shape of the neck and pocket that lock together to create a tight bond, ensuring the neck is seated exactly where it should be with no chance of movement. As this revolutionary and innovative design completely eliminates lateral movement, 4 bolts are no longer required.
If this wasn't enough for a spicy spec, Tom Anderson has incorporated the patented Buzz Feiten Tuning System into this guitar. It's an essential addition for all of us intonation-fiends!
A medium-output HC1 pickup features in the neck position; its warm, vintage tone is the perfect complement to the hotter, more biting HC2 in the bridge position.
The weight of this guitar is 3.55kg (7.83lbs). Please see the photos for all the included case candy (as noted above, no spec sheet came with the guitar).
The original hardshell case is included. This is in excellent condition with only a couple of very light marks from storage.
